I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. 🚨 Ward Team - Closure Orders Secured 🚨
Sydenham Safer Neighbourhood Team are pleased to share a significant result whereby officers successfully obtained a further two Closure Orders under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2014 for problem addresses on the Grace Path estate SE26.
Residents will recall that in August 2025, Bromley Magistrates’ Court granted a Closure Order at the same location following serious concerns around cuckooing of a vulnerable male. That individual was safeguarded and offered more suitable accommodation.
Unfortunately, the same group of prolific offenders, drug users, drug dealers, later relocated to two other addresses on the estate, bringing continued disruption to the community.
Ward officers received numerous reports including, drug use and drug dealing, public defecation, anti-social drunken behaviour and drug related activity within communal areas such as stairwells. Due to the high volume and severity of complaints, officers worked extensively with partners to build evidence and present the case at court. The team carried out extended patrols and proactive work outside normal shift hours to tackle the issues effectively.
On 11th May, Bromley Magistrates’ Court granted Closure Orders for both addresses, which were successfully enforced. Your local officers remain committed to working towards a safer Sydenham with reduced ASB.
